Farm News – March, 2021
We are getting busier by the day! We have planted snow peas in the high tunnel and the first of the French breakfast Radishes for the spring season. We are still picking lettuce, spinach, chard and kale from the tunnels. Last week we began picking golden beets with beautiful tops. We also have some very nice Bok Choi as well.
The first sugar snap peas have been planted in the fields and we are preparing for planting the first spring onions and the field potatoes and lettuce.
The compost is being spread on the fields now with this warm and drier weather. We are pruning EVERYTHING! Peaches, Plums, Asian Pears, Black Raspberries, Red Raspberries, Blueberries, and Blackberries.
In the greenhouse we are seeding lettuce, Swiss chard, kale, peppers, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, red beets, herbs, flowers, and spinach. The tables are getting fuller and the germination box is full from morning til night.
This is a great time for us. We are outside again and it is not so cold. We have finished all the major repairs for this year, unless we have any emergencies. We are ready to go!
Now is a good time to consider signing up for a CSA for the summer or for the full year. Our early bird price will only be available until the end of March. Send an email to let us know that you would like to join the CSA for 2021 and then you can send a check or drop off your check to Oliver at St Luke’s on Saturday.
The CSA season will begin the week of June 7. Check out our website for more information about the CSA and let us know if you have any questions.

Have a lovely Spring! This weekend Day Light Saving time begins! More hours to do more work! (I am not sure that this is the reason for it, but we are glad for the additional time to get everything done!)
