Great for cobblers, crisps or pies if you want to make and roll out pie dough.  Cobblers and crisps are very easy to make!

Pit Cherries – cook 2 cups of cherries with ½ cup of water till it boils.  Add 1 cup of sugar and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch.  Cook and stir till thick.  Scoop into 8×8 square pan or 8in round pan.

For cobbler, stir 1 cup of flour, ¼ cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 3 tablespoons of butter, 1 egg, and 3 tablespoons of milk.  Stir just till mixed and put on top of the cherries.  The cobbler doesn’t need to cover all cherries.  Bake at 350 for about 20-30 minutes.

For crisps, stir together 1 cup of oatmeal, 1 cup of flour, 1 cup or brown sugar, ½ cup of butter.  Combine with hands into crumbs, spread on top of cherries, bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes.
